Role
Based in Troon and reporting directly to the Group Head of Finance, this is an excellent opportunity for those wishing to develop their Financial Controller career. The successful candidate will provide financial leadership and direction to the finance functions across our timber processing facilities in Troon and Windymains, with responsibility for reporting financial accounts, management accounts, and other information. They will liaise closely with the Sales, Operations and Forestry teams, and manage financial reporting and management of financial information.
Responsibilities
* Leading the finance team, reporting directly into the Group Head of Finance.
* Own monthly management accounts, reporting, and cashflow forecasting.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
* Manage balance sheet controls, and statutory processes.
* Provide commercial finance support in Insurance and capital investment appraisal.
* Improve finance processes, systems and controls.
* Support executive management team.
* Establish and grow Finance function to cope with business growth.
Candidate Profile
* Fully qualified accountant with at least 5 years post qualification experience, ideally across several disciplines.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage, lead and motivate people at all levels.
* Experience working in an ERP environment would be an advantage.
* Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
* Excellent planning and organizing skills, ability to multi-task and prioritise within timescales.
* Resilience and the ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment.
* Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability with high accuracy.
* Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
* Teamwork and collaboration with the ability to build effective partnerships.
