We at phs Compliance, are looking for a capable leader who can ensure Health, Safety, technical service quality of our employees and contractors, follow the environmental regulations, uphold the quality criteria and track and report the essential data on sustainability.
The right person for the role will be someone who looks out for colleagues and team members and does the right thing not the easy thing. Someone who works to continually improve the phs Compliance strategy and plan in a way that will directly benefit our organisation. Has a keen interest to maintain and develop their own expertise, and the skills and knowledge of others.
Key responsibilities of the role:
1. Develop and deliver a Health, Safety, technical service quality and Environment strategy, that delivers the sustainable development and corporate social responsibility standards at PHS.
2. Lead all H&S activity within phs Compliance.
3. Actively monitor employee engagement and participation in safety compliance.
4. Incident investigation review and root cause analysis.
5. Proactively contribute to training activities
6. Promote management ownership of the PHS Compliance safety, environmental and quality management system, working in collaboration with the Group HSQE.
7. Understand all safety, environmental and product legislation applicable to the business
8. Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
9. Provide internal audits that meet ISO standard
10. Support teams during external accreditation audits including but not limited to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, CHAS and Safe contractor
11. Ensuring all mandatory H&S training is up to date
12. Effectively manage the organisation’s technical function to ensure best practices are followed
13. Ownership and record of all technical certification qualifications across the organisation
14. To review and identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement and innovation
15. Identify design and implement change programs identified by legal, commercial or continual improvement requirements.
16. Maintain professional competence to Tech IOSH and PIEMA.
Skills and Experience required for the role:
17. IOSH Managing Safely.
18. Relevant electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years electrical management experience.
19. Strong working knowledge of UK electrical safety legislation and standards
20. Experience acting as an Electrical Authorised Person or Duty Holder
21. A concise communication style, and a robust and effective approach
Desirable attributes:
22. NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent H&S qualification) or willingness to work towards
23. MIET member of the IET or willing to work towards
24. Registered with the engineering council to EngTech or willing to work towards
25. TechIOSH member of IOSH or willing to work towards
26. Member of IEMA or willing to work towards.
27. Lead auditor qualification (ISO 9001).
