Night Support Assistant
Job Title: Night Support Assistant
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £28,155.84 per annum
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full time
Working Pattern: Night rota, four days on, three days off
Location: Bevatone House, Barnet

Responsibilities
* Provide waking night staff cover at the service on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays.
* Complete and coordinate nightly patrols in and out of the building to maintain high standards of security and attend to customers’ night-time needs, including welfare checks as needed.
* Assist in maintaining customer files and ensure accurate and up-to-date records of support provided to customers in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Participate in handovers with the day staff at the start and end of shifts.

* Experience of working with vulnerable adults in either a paid or voluntary capacity.

* Excellent team-working skills with a creative flair and the ability to think outside of the box.
* Strong IT and social media skills to manage and maintain administration and recording systems.

Role Profile
Service Delivery:
* Provide waking night staff cover at the service on a rota basis, including weekend shifts.
* Ensure the project adheres to all standards set out by Riverside.
* Participate in handovers with the day staff at the start and end of each shift.
* Complete and coordinate nightly patrols to maintain security and attend to night-time needs.
* Take reasonable health and safety precautions, including fire procedures, room checks, and inspections.
* Carry out welfare checks on customers as necessary through the night.
Customer Support:
* Be accessible and responsive to customers’ concerns and information requests.
* Assist/enable customers to maintain health care and personal hygiene standards.
* Enable customers to participate in the running of the service through consultation and involvement.
* Inform customers about local practices and procedures, including Health & Safety Regulations and fire drills.
* Ensure colleagues are aware of relevant information about customers.
* Maintain customer files and records of support provided in accordance with policies and on the IT system.
Other Information
* Flexible hours may be required to meet customer and business needs.
* Use the Lone Worker system as necessary.
* Work within Riverside’s Policy and Procedure framework (health & safety, safeguarding, dignity at work, GDPR, etc.).
* Deliver your role in line with Riverside values – “Our Riverside Way”.
* Attend team meetings, regular supervisions, and practice reflection sessions.
* undertake regular training and continuous development to deliver your role safely.
* Additional duties may be required in consultation with your Line Manager.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable adults (paid or voluntary).
* Good team worker, time management and organizational skills.
* Ability to motivate and support vulnerable adults.
* IT skills including Microsoft Word and managing recording systems.
