Site Engineer (Earthworks) - UK Civils North Division
Role
We are recruiting for a Site Engineer's to join our UK Civils North Division. You responsible for all technical aspects of setting out the site. An integral part of the Technical site team (with emphasis on control of the works, technical advice and Earthworks). The Engineer will carry out their work in accordance with company standard procedures and discharge their duties as listed in the Sisk Safety Policy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Setting out the works in accordance with drawings, specifications and site surveys
2. Liaising with the project planning engineer regarding construction programmes
3. Checking materials and work in progress for compliance with the specified requirements
4. Observance of safety requirements
5. Resolving technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors
6. and statutory authorities
7. Quality control in accordance with Sisk procedures, method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans, all prepared by the project management team and by subcontractors
8. Liaising with company or project purchasing department to ensure that purchase orders adequately define the specified requirements
9. Supervising and mentoring Graduate and Trainee Engineers
10. Measurement and valuation (in collaboration with the project quantity surveyor where appropriate).
11. Providing data in respect of variation orders and site instructions
12. Preparing record drawings, technical reports, site diary
Experience & Skills
13. At least 3 years post qualification experience with good knowledge of the sector or experience within a project based organisation
14. Displays good interpersonal and communication skills and acts in an independent and professional manner with the ability to influence others including senior management
15. Working knowledge of Temporary works and the Sisk Temporary works procedures
16. Can demonstrate initiative and resilience
17. Ability to build strong relationships with delivery teams and project managers
18. The ability to assess, analyse and adapt their approach to the specific circumstances on any given project
19. Manage and interrogate 3D models across a number of disciplines.
20. Has knowledge & understanding of managing 4D planning
21. BIM Awareness and understanding of the BIM Process.
22. Experience with a common data environment. (CDE)
Qualifications/ Training
23. Completed HND/ BEng/ MEng Civil Engineering degree
24. Managing Safety in Construction training
25. Current full driving licence
26. Recognised safety programme, qualified and up to date
27. First Aid
28. Lifting Supervisor / Crane Awareness training
29. Temporary works co-ordinator training
30. Is working towards professional status, EI, ICE, CIOB etc.
