We are offering an opportunity for an Apprentice Roofer to join our team and begin a career in the roofing industry.\nThis role combines practical, on-site training with formal college education, allowing you to develop the skills required to become a qualified roofer. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople on a range of projects, including repairs, renewals, and work on historic buildings, while learning core roofing techniques such as slating, tiling, and leadwork.\nThe position is suited to someone motivated, reliable, and keen to learn a hands-on trade, with a strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors as part of a team. You will gain experience working on historic and unique properties, learning specialist conservation techniques, traditional materials, and the care required when working on listed and heritage buildings.\n- Installation of slate and tile roofing systems (including traditional Scottish methods)\n- Roof repairs, maintenance, and fault finding\n- Basic leadwork and flashing details\n- Safe working at height, including use of scaffolding and access equipment\n- Use and maintenance of roofing tools and equipment\n- Understanding roof structures and construction methods\n- Identifying defects and assessing roof conditions\n-Health & safety awareness within the construction industry\n-Working effectively as part of a team on live construction sites No previous experience is required.
