PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £25,700 - £32,900 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

BBC EXTEND
This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Edit Assistant to support our post-production team. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in Avid Media Composer and Interplay, who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality content.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Prepare, ingest, and manage media within Avid Media Composer
* Organise and maintain projects using Interlay workflows
* Sync rushes, create group clips, and manage multi-cam sequences
* Troubleshoot technical and workflow issues efficiently
* Manage exports, deliveries, and archive processes
* Maintain accurate documentation and version control
* Liaise with production teams, technical departments, and external partners
* Ensure media security and adherence to data management protocols
* Support editors creatively and technically throughout the edit process
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate is an experienced Edit Assistant with strong working knowledge of Avid Media Composer and Interplay, who thrives in a fast-paced post-production environment. They are highly organized, detail oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities and troubleshoot effectively under pressure. A confident communicator, they build positive working relationships across teams and are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace that supports diverse voices and storytelling.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
* Strong technical experience with Avid MC, including ingesting media, syncing rushes, and creating group clips
* Experience working with Interplay or similar shared media management workflows
* Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain organized, efficient post-production workflows
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with editors, production teams, and technical staff
* A proactive, organized approach with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced team environment
DESIRABLE
* Experience working in television or broadcast post-production
* Knowledge of multi-cam workflows and managing complex edit projects
* Experience with media archiving, delivery specifications, and quality control processes
* Familiarity with additional post-production tools and workflows beyond Avid
* A strong interest in television production and developing a career in post-production
