We are seeking an enthusiastic Deputy Medical Staffing Service Lead. You will be joining a small and friendly well-established team, where you will be responsible for:
* Supporting the delivery of training to medical / dental staff and managers around the use of Allocate software for purposes of appraisal, revalidation and job planning, as well as Health Roster.
* In discussion with the Medical Staffing Service Lead, developing processes associated with Medical Appraisal, Job planning and Revalidation, assisting with the delivery of training to staff.
* Deputising for the Medical Staffing Manager in periods of absence.
Main duties
* The Post Holder will be required to deputise for the Medical Staffing Service Lead and support with a wide range of tasks and cover colleagues as required.
* To be a lead specialist and provide expert advice to stakeholders on all medical & dental terms and conditions of service, practices and procedures.
* Remain up to date with changes in practice and legislation in relation to medical staffing and ensure best practice at all times.
* To assist the Medical Staffing Service Lead with the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures relating to medical staff and to make proposals for new initiatives or policy in line with best practice.
* Advise the Clinical Directors / Consultants / Operational Managers in the development of job descriptions and person specification for medical posts in the absence of the Medical Staffing Service Lead.
* Responsible, in discussion with the Medical Staffing Service Lead, for developing processes associated with Medical Appraisal, Job planning and Revalidation, assisting with the delivery of training to staff.
* Submission of revalidation requests to the GMC and updating Medical Appraisal software.

Job responsibilities
* Expert in the Appraisal and Job Planning software.
* Responsible for Annual Medical Appraisal and Job Planning processes for Medical and Dental staff across the Trust.
* Ensuring electronic system, Allocate for Medical Appraisal and Job Planning is fully maintained and utilised by medical staff and the trained Appraisers.
* Appraiser training compliance, allocation of appraisers, delivery of training along with our AMD for Medical Appraisal to managers and medical staff.
* Monitor compliance rates for Medical Appraisal and provide data to Medical Staffing Service Lead and Responsible Officer.
* Organise and attend annual audit reviews of Medical Appraisal samples and collate data for submission to committees.
* Production of Annual Organisational Audit data annually and production of report to Trust Board for ratification prior to submission to the NHSI.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level / equivalent level of experience.
* Specialist training or equivalent experience to post graduate diploma level in medical staffing.
Experience
* Essential: Experience of Allocate system for Appraisal/Job Planning/E-Rostering or equivalent software.
* Experience of working within a Medical Staffing Function within the NHS.
* Experience at a senior level of processes relating to the employment of medical / dental staff within the NHS.
* Experience of analysing and reporting from statistical information and taking action.
Desirable
* Qualification in Leadership / Management.
* CIPD qualification or equivalent knowledge / experience of HR practice
* Experience of using the following systems and software: oESR oE-Pay / E-Roster / E-appraisal / E-job planning oTrac recruitment system/NHS Jobs
