What we're looking for:
* At least 6 months of experience working with adults or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly autism.
* A positive and proactive approach to supporting individuals, including those who may exhibit challenging behaviours. Your calm demeanor and ability to build rapport will be key.
* A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle, as the role may involve transporting individuals or supporting off-site activities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the development and well-being of autistic adults.
In this role, you will:
* Provide direct support to adults in various learning environments, including vocational training, life skills development, and community integration.
* Assist in creating an engaging and inclusive learning and living environment.
* Help to manage and de-escalate challenging situations with a calm and consistent approach.
* Contribute to the individual progress and well-being of the adults we support.
* Work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.
