Overview
This is a General Cardiology Consultant post with an option to deliver specialist activity. A specialist interest would be welcomed. Support will be given to undertake PA's at other centres to maintain/develop specialist interests.
This is an exciting time to join the Cardiology Department at HDFT. We are a highly skilled and innovative multi‑disciplinary team, and this appointment will help us continue to deliver high quality patient care and drive service developments.
There are excellent opportunities for the post holder to develop new or existing services according to their clinical interests.
Responsibilities
Flexible/Part time working will be considered with opportunities (by negotiation) to undertake sessions at other organisations to maintain or develop skills.
* Provide an inpatient and outpatient Cardiology service, including all aspects of non‑elective and outpatient treatment and related management duties.
* Conduct all activities within the contracted level of service and operating plan for Cardiology services.
* Support service development within the cardiology service.
Working Environment
We are well positioned within the wider local cardiology network and work closely with Leeds, South Tees and Mid Yorkshire. We have regular visiting consultants from Leeds teaching hospitals for satellite arrhythmia clinics.
Our patients have access to a recently redeveloped and extended cardio‑respiratory department, new clinic rooms and new equipment including state‑of‑the‑art echo equipment with 3‑D and strain imaging capability. In January 2021 a new Philips Cath lab was commissioned, delivering diagnostic angiography and Brady pacemaker implantation.
