Overview
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated physiotherapist to join our expanding service. The post rotates between primary and secondary care and involves leading and delivering high quality patient-centred care within a large MSK department that includes band 5–7, advanced practice and consultant physiotherapists.
The post holder will manage a mix of primary and secondary care referrals, support the development of junior staff, participate in teaching programmes, lead service developments and manage a clinical team. The service has a well-established in-service training programme and strong links with QMUL Sports Medicine Department for research and service development.
Main duties
* Provide high-standard MSK physiotherapy for acute, sub-acute and chronic patients as an autonomous practitioner, with access to guidance from colleagues as needed.
* Manage an autonomous caseload including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and appropriate discharge, adapting practice to patient needs.
* Deliver advanced assessment and treatment for complex chronic pain presentations; may include aspects of hand therapy and rheumatology.
* Supervise, appraise and advise therapy staff, support staff, and students; coordinate student allocations to the speciality.

Person specification
Essential
* Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
* Post-graduate experience as a senior physiotherapist in MSK outpatient, orthopaedics or rheumatology settings
* CPD evidence in line with HPC guidance
* Experience working in uni- and multi-professional teams; supervision and development of junior staff and students
* Experience with audit/research and involvement in clinical governance
* Experience working with chronic pain populations
Desirable
* Appropriate post-registration NHS experience
* Experience of sole working in out-of-hours orthopaedic settings
* Experience in a First Contact Practitioner (FCP) setting
Knowledge/Qualifications
Essential
* Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
* HPC registration

* Chartered Society of Physiotherapy membership
