Reporting to the production manager, this role will be responsible for the day to day running of the afternoon shift within a production engineering environment. Duties of the team leader or production supervisor will include: Responsible for running a production area with around 15 - 20 operatives Ensuring quality standards are maintained and production targets are achieved - ensuring on time, in full deliveries are met Planning work schedules, ensuring maximum efficiency across the machines Driving continuous improvement activities Motivating and communicating with the team effectively Communicating with internal departments at all levels to ensure production levels are maintained Updating information onto a computerised manufacturing system Skills and experience for the team leader or production supervisor: The role would suit a candidate trained in modern production techniques within a target driven engineering environment Experience within the automotive industry would be advantageous however supervisory from other industries would also be suitable. The shift team leader, must be able to demonstrate good communication and motivation skills and be able to take overall responsibility for part of the shift. Some flexibility from time to time may be required with additional hours of work. Any engineering or related qualifications are useful but not essential and you should be computer literate however training is provided for the bespoke system for inputting and updating of information.
