Commercial Insurance Broker | Bury | £30K - £40K
A well-established independent insurance brokerage is seeking a qualified Commercial Insurance Broker to join their team in Bury and take over an existing portfolio of clients. The company provides cross-class tailored insurance solutions for SME, Mid-Market and Corporate Clients across a wide range of industry sectors, with a professional and impartial advisory-based approach.
Having already grown through acquisition, the company has large growth plans with further acquisitions in the pipeline. The Commercial Insurance Broker will take over an existing portfolio of clients from day one and will also look to grow the book through cross-selling, upselling and new business.
The Role
Responsibilities
* Work with a portfolio of new and existing clients, in close collaboration with Senior Brokers and Directors, to provide tailored insurance solutions.
* Provide comprehensive customer support and advice to meet the insurance needs of clients.
* Develop a strong understanding of the client’s business, requirements and risks.
* Process and administer new contracts, renewals and mid-term adjustments (MTAs).
* Liaise and negotiate with underwriters to identify the most suitable insurance products for clients.
* Collaborate with Senior Brokers, Account Executives and Directors to develop knowledge of commercial insurance products and ensure recommendations align with client needs.
* Handle day-to-day queries from clients and insurers.
* Provide outstanding customer service and develop lasting client relationships.
About You
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry as a Commercial Account Handler, Commercial Broker, or Commercial Account Manager — essential.
* Experience with SME and Mid-Market clients.
* In-depth knowledge of multiple commercial insurance products and services across all lines.
* Working knowledge of Acturis.
* Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills both in person and over the phone.
* CII qualification or working towards it would be advantageous.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Strong PC skills.
