We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic business intelligence analyst to join the Strategic Research Team in Business Intelligence at Warwickshire County Council.
About the Team and the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a Business Intelligence team that provides a critical function to the council, ensuring that we can make evidence-based decisions, understand what we are doing well, and identify areas for improvement. The role involves delivering the team’s work programme through analysis, interpretation, and innovative reporting of both contextual and service data. You will be essential in providing senior management and commissioners with the best intelligence to support decision-making and service delivery, enabling targeted resource allocation within a challenging financial environment.
The successful candidate will be based in the Strategic Research team, part of the Business Intelligence function. The role is varied and involves providing solutions for collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data from various areas across Warwickshire County Council, with a focus on supporting services in our Communities Directorate. Responsibilities include:
1. Using tools and techniques to interpret and report on local and national datasets and research to support evidence-based strategies, policies, and change initiatives.
2. Designing and building PowerBI dashboards for teams and elected members to understand complex data.
3. Supporting delivery of the Council Plan through participation in project groups and relevant data analysis and reporting.
4. Supporting consultation, engagement, and user research activities, including survey design, data collection, and analysis of responses.
The workload is diverse, offering opportunities to collaborate across the organization on current issues. The service has been involved in reporting for COVID-19, supporting the Levelling Up agenda, addressing the cost-of-living crisis, handling Homes for Ukraine data, and providing evidence for economic recovery strategies.
You will have access to necessary technology and datasets, including Microsoft tools and subscription datasets, to perform your role effectively. Training and development are encouraged and provided as needed.
Flexible working arrangements are available, including options for working at our reconfigured offices at Shire Hall in Warwick, which support both face-to-face and virtual collaboration.
Joining the Business Intelligence Team means becoming part of a friendly, supportive environment that values teamwork and mutual support. We aim to empower you to succeed and to support others in your team.
If you are proactive, passionate, and eager to contribute meaningfully, we encourage you to apply. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in communities and enjoy a fulfilling work environment.
