We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Maidstone, a men's prison.

HMP Maidstone operates like a self-contained town, requiring hundreds of staff to maintain its functions. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will help ensure smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, families, and the wider community.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical, time-bound services to HMPPS. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in:
* At least two years working as a plumber or equivalent
* Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
* Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems
* Understanding of health and safety regulations
* Qualifications: C&G 6035 or 6189, NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
* Strong health and safety knowledge
* Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
