Senior growth lead – home care & signature service

Sylvian Care South East London is expanding and we are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth across our regulated domiciliary care services and our premium Signature Service. This is a senior, hands‑on commercial role for someone with proven home care sector experience who can build and convert a robust pipeline through NHS and community‑based referral pathways.


Core Focus Areas

* NHS relationship management (Trusts, community services, discharge teams, GP practices)
* ICB and commissioning engagement, including pathway development and service positioning
* Community and healthcare partnerships (VCSE, advocacy groups, case managers, allied health professionals)
* Identifying, qualifying and converting growth opportunities across private and publicly funded care
* Building and embedding strategic referral pathways for both domiciliary care and Signature Service


Reporting Line

Reports to: Director, Sylvian Care South East London


Key Responsibilities

* Develop and deliver a regional business development plan aligned to growth targets across domiciliary care and Signature.
* Own and grow relationships with key NHS stakeholders and community partners; maintain a structured engagement cadence.
* Secure meetings and progress opportunities with ICBs, commissioning leads and pathway owners, presenting a credible, compliant offer.
* Build and manage a high‑quality referral pipeline; implement a consistent approach to qualification, follow‑up, and conversion.
* Create and maintain strategic referral pathways (discharge, reablement, community nursing, social prescribing, dementia, end of life, etc.).
* Represent Sylvian Care at local network meetings, forums and events, ensuring brand and service standards are reflected in every interaction.
* Work with operations to ensure service capacity, staffing continuity and onboarding processes support growth and client experience.
* Support tender/commissioning responses and partnership proposals where relevant (commercial contribution).
* Track performance using agreed KPIs and CRM discipline; provide weekly updates and monthly forecasting.
* Identify risks to growth (capacity, reputation, compliance) and propose mitigations early.


Success Measures (KPIs)

* New qualified referral sources created and activated (NHS + community)
* Number of stakeholder meetings per week and conversion to referral agreements/pathways
* Qualified leads generated (private + NHS/commissioned) and pipeline value
* Consultation/show rate and conversion rate to packages of care
* Revenue growth and margin contribution; forecast accuracy
* Time‑to‑first‑service and onboarding quality feedback (client/family experience)
* Signature Service enquiries and conversions where appropriate


Essential Experience & Skills

* 3–5 years’ business development experience within the UK Home Care sector (domiciliary care).
* Proven track record of generating opportunities and delivering growth results.
* Experience managing NHS relationships and navigating local health and care systems.
* Confidence engaging with ICB/commissioning stakeholders and building credible referral pathways.
* Ability to work autonomously with high personal accountability and excellent organisational skills.
* Professional communication skills and a calm, premium client‑facing presence.
* Existing relationships across South East London healthcare networks.
* Experience with private client acquisition and premium/home concierge‑style services.
* Understanding of CQC‑regulated service delivery and how compliance supports commercial credibility.
* CRM proficiency and structured reporting discipline.


Location & Working Pattern

South East London. Hybrid field-based role with regular travel to partner sites and community networks. Some flexibility required to attend early/late meetings or events.
