Job Title : SEN Case Officer / EHCP Writer (x2 posts) Category : Agency Workers 2-3 months (post covering long term sickness extensions tbc) Client Location :London E17 Hours Per Week : 36.00 Start Time : 09:00 End Time : 17:30 PAYE Pay Rate £207.58 per day Umbrella/Ltd Pay Rate £268.92 per day PURPOSE The main duty of this position is the creation of Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans, incorporating advice from parents/carers, children/young people, schools and other professional bodies, in accordance with the Children and Families Act (2014) and associated regulations and guidance. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Write high-quality EHC plans in a timely manner to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and regulations, while adhering to the Department for Education (DfE) guidance and relevant statutes. This includes maintaining clear, concise, and accessible plans, and collaborating with advice givers as needed to obtain further information or clarification. Utilise the SEND database while following local authority procedures and maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity of the recorded data. Under the supervision of an EHCP Coordinator, respond to parental submissions regarding proposed changes to EHC plans, and work closely with EHCP Coordinators to support casework, including scheduling and arranging meetings with parents and professionals to discuss EHC plans. Requirements ROLE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Knowledge & Skills: • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Additionally, outstanding knowledge and comprehension of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities are required. Familiarity with the SEND Code of Practice (2015) is also necessary. Excellent oral and written communication abilities, including the presentation of formal reports, are expected. Demonstrating a strong commitment to public service is necessary. Effective organisational and time management skills are crucial. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also working independently using one's initiative is desirable. Experience: • Experience in drafting person-centered plans and reports, coordination of external services within schools, and working within multidisciplinary teams. Proficient in utilising standard office ICT software applications. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Will require an enhanced DBS check.
