Senior Information Governance Officer role at Surrey County Council, based at Victoria Gate, Woking. Hybrid working available. Salary starting at £36,873 per annum for a 36-hour week. Three new officers to join the Information Governance Team, with one part-time position at 18 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Reading and redacting information
* Acting as a point of contact for internal and external clients
* Answering queries from internal and external stakeholders, providing timely, clear and effective advice
* Using electronic document and case management systems with an understanding of confidentiality
Your Application – Skills & Experience
* Excellent time management skills; ability to manage own caseload and meet legislative deadlines
* Knowledge of redaction and disclosure within relevant legislation
* Ability to work flexibly within the Information Governance team to meet service needs
* Meticulous attention to detail when handling highly sensitive, confidential data
* Excellent communication skills with stakeholders across departments and external agencies
* Awareness of Data Protection and Information Governance (e.g., GDPR)

About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly formed Information Governance Team created as part of the Organisation Redesign Programme. The role focuses on data access, use and management to support high-quality services. The team operates across Surrey, with hybrid working and opportunities to influence data practices, including preparations for local government reorganisation. You will collaborate with technical specialists and support over 10,000 staff and residents across Surrey.
What You’ll Do
Help shape innovative ways of working and embed new processes. Work with colleagues in the office and remotely to support information governance across the Council.
