Social Care Worker - Personal Assistant
I am a 16 year old young man who loves music, attending the cinema, bowling, local clubs, exhibitions, museums and being out in nature and going walks. I also love socialising whilst enjoying a hot chocolate and treats.
Responsibilities
* Enable independence and support the person to achieve their potential, build friendships, and participate in activities to increase social interaction opportunities.
* Act as a chaperone in social situations and support participation in activities of daily living.
* Assist with personal care, keep the individual safe, and encourage activities inside the home (including domestic chores like cooking) and engaging activities such as arts and crafts.
Qualifications and qualities
* Ideal match: outgoing, fun, confident, with experience in care or supporting young people (not essential).
* Comfortable supporting daily living activities, including personal hygiene, eating, and moving around.
* Ability to move and assist; the role requires physical fitness.
* Ability to relate to the individual and enthusiastically engage in activities they enjoy; openness to new activities and opportunities.
Role context
You’ll be part of a wider support network and work alongside other PAs at times; communication and teamwork are important.
This role is based in Milngavie, so you must be able to travel to and from the area reliably.
Hours and scheduling
This role is for 6 hours per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00–7:00 pm, with ad hoc support during school holidays, evenings and weekends (including Saturdays 9:00 am–2:00 pm). Any ad hoc support would be agreed at least a month in advance.
Compensation
Rate of pay: £17.50 per hour, paid every four weeks.
Travel and clearances
* A driving license is preferred to help with transport, but not essential.
* PVG Scheme Membership or Scheme Update is required by the successful applicant. The successful candidate will be expected to cover the cost of the PVG Membership or Update.
