We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join the Group Finance Team within HFD Group, supporting a portfolio of group companies including DataVita, our clients rapidly growing digital infrastructure business. The salary for this opportunity is £45,000 - £53,000 depending on experience with benefits including 33 days annual leave, private health care, EV salary sacrifice scheme, company pension and parking on-site in Strathclyde Business Park. There is also a hub office in City Centre Glasgow where the Management Accountant can also work from. The Management Accountant role sits at the heart of the organisation, producing high-quality monthly management accounts while also acting as a Finance Business Partner to operational and departmental leaders. You’ll work closely with budget holders to provide insight, challenge assumptions, and support informed decision-making across the Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys combining strong technical capability with stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities Management reporting & control Preparation of monthly management accounts for designated group companies Review and posting of monthly journals, ensuring accuracy and completeness Supporting the month-end close process to deliver timely, reliable reporting Reviewing monthly and quarterly VAT returns Finance Business Partnering Acting as a Finance Business Partner to heads of department and operational teams Working with budget holders to explain financial performance, variances and trends Supporting budgets, forecasts and cashflow planning, providing insight and challenge Helping non-finance stakeholders understand the numbers and make better decisions Cashflow, projects & improvement Assisting with cashflow forecasting, budgets and VAT turnover reconciliations Supporting ad-hoc projects across the wider Group as required Contributing to the ongoing improvement of reporting, processes and controls Working closely with Accounts Assistants and the Finance Manager to embed efficient routines About you Experience & qualifications CA / ACCA / CIMA qualified, with post-qualification experience commensurate with the role Strong experience preparing management accounts in a multi-entity environment Working knowledge of VAT and CIS Experience with Sage Intacct, Re-Leased and CaseWare is advantageous, but not essential Skills & attributes Strong Excel skills; experience building or working with financial models is an advantage Confident communicator with strong relationship-building and influencing skills Comfortable operating as a Finance Business Partner, not just a reporter of numbers Highly organised with excellent time management and the ability to meet tight deadlines Proactive, flexible and committed to continuous professional development High levels of accuracy and attention to detail If you are looking for a progressive and dynamic business to further your commercial finance career, please get in touch now for a confidential conversation.
