We’re looking for a laboratory technician to join our team at our Gillette manufacturing facility in Reading.

Responsibilities
* Be accountable for lab results by ensuring product quality meets the standard by recording, analysing and writing reports on testing results.
* Operate, clean, maintain and calibrate lab equipment and systems.
* Create, own, and improve lab equipment and systems.
* Release making/raw materials within specification limits and release timings.
* Support the operations team from a Quality standpoint during night shifts.
* Identify issues/trends and support the department on identifying causes and solving problems.

* Competitive Salary: The starting salary for this role is £34,624.20. Every P&G employee’s salary is reviewed annually, providing ample opportunity for future salary increases.
* Generous Pension: The Company will contribute double the amount you contribute towards your pension savings, up to a maximum company contribution of 14% of your pensionable pay.
* Annual Leave: You will start with 25 days’ annual leave entitlement (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of service up to 30 days.
* 1‑4‑1 Shares: For every share that you purchase, the Company will purchase a share on your behalf. You can contribute up to 2.5% of your salary into the 1‑4‑1 Share Plan, up to a maximum of £150 a month.

Job Qualifications
* Operate with Discipline: You follow good Laboratory Practices and all standards rigorously. You can identify deviations from quality standards and work to take appropriate action.
* Scientific Background: You have relevant Science qualifications at GCSE and A-Level/NVQ (or equivalents). Practical chemical or microbiology lab experience is desirable, and experience within a manufacturing setting would be a plus.
* Be Decisive: You can draw information from microbiological or analytical data to identify risks and trends. You use this information to make timely decisions to minimise impact on product release. You utilise your ideas, technical knowledge and insights to guide improvements to our processes.
* Be Flexible and Agile: You are adaptive to new priorities in our ever‑changing and dynamic environment, remaining responsive to our production schedules.
* Languages: Proficiency in English. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
