Key Account Manager - Responsibilities & Requirements
* Act as the main day-to-day contact for the customer, building and maintaining a strong, solution-focused relationship
* Lead and manage all aspects of a dedicated project, representing the customer's interests within the business
* Submit and maintain customer documentation, trackers, and project updates in a timely and accurate manner
* Attend customer reviews and meetings for ongoing and new projects, ensuring all deliverables are aligned
* Support onboarding of new customers alongside the Business Development Manager
* Liaise with production planning to coordinate schedules and ensure all orders are dispatched on time, in full (OTIF)
* Maintain rigorous control over stock and consumables through system and physical checks
* Oversee goods-in/goods-out processes and manage daily operations to achieve performance targets
* Ensure timely and accurate entry of stock movements, job specifications, and quotes across multiple systems
* Manage relationships with material suppliers, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and service levels
* Prepare accurate customer quotations and submissions in line with briefs and internal guidelines
* Ensure all distribution activities meet expected quality standards and delivery timelines
* Strong operational knowledge, particularly within logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environments
* Proven experience in key account or project management
* Excellent relationship-building skills with both customers and internal teams
* High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
* Strong understanding of stock control and supply chain operations
* Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and other operational software systems
* Strong numeracy and reporting skills
* Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
