This campaign offers roles in multiple locations. You may select up to 2 preferences, but it is not mandatory. Please only choose locations you are willing to travel or re-locate to at your own expense. Candidates who decline or cannot commence their roles within a reasonable timeframe after an offer may be withdrawn from the campaign.

Note that these vacancies are not currently eligible for new visa sponsorship applications under the Skilled Worker route, especially for candidates without existing permission to work in the UK as a Skilled Worker, unless sponsored before 4 April 2024. About the job

We are looking to fill Executive Officer roles within the DWP, Work and Health Decision Making Directorate. These roles suit individuals with a positive attitude, a passion for public service, and a desire to make a difference.

We welcome applications from candidates who possess strong influencing and communication skills, can respond effectively to diverse customer needs, understand complex information, and make timely decisions.

The available roles are based in: Bangor (Ty Pont Britannia), Ty Taf (Treforest Industrial Estate)

Successful candidates will be assigned to specific Executive Officer roles. They will follow standard promotion rules, be placed on the DWP pay scale, and adhere to its terms and conditions.

Responsibilities include:

* Deciding on complex cases related to labour market, benefits, Work Capability Assessments, Habitual Residency Tests, reconsiderations, and appeals.
* Keeping updated on DWP legislation, labour market policies, and decision-making processes.
* Analyzing data to make informed decisions across the Universal Credit process.
* Gathering additional information and applying relevant legislation to each case.
* Recording decision outcomes accurately on claimant accounts.
* Communicating decisions considerately, mindful of the claimant experience.
* Providing excellent customer service, especially to claimants with complex needs.
* Demonstrating strong telephony and digital communication skills with diverse claimants.
* Handling sensitive situations with resilience and professionalism.
* Managing cases effectively by prioritizing and completing tasks.
* Informing Case Managers and Work Coaches of decision outcomes promptly.
* Ensuring claimants receive correct Universal Credit payments at the right time.
* Staying informed about service changes and contributing to continuous improvement.
* Engaging in personal development through digital learning and guidance tools.
* For roles in Wales, proficiency in Welsh is desirable.
