The role...

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing to join our team. This leadership role will work closely with our Director shaping and then delivering our health, safety and wellbeing strategy across our operations in the South.

You'll be instrumental in driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, improving the health of our employees and leading a team of professionals to embed best practice across the business.

Here are some of the activities that you'll get involved with...

Lead the development and implementation of health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Provide senior leadership and oversight to the health, safety and wellbeing team, supporting their development and performance.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and accountability in health, safety and wellbeing across all operational areas.
Oversee escalated incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis is conducted in a fair and just manner, and that corrective actions are implemented.
Engage with senior stakeholders to influence and embed health and safety priorities across the business.
Monitor and report on health and safety performance, using data and insights to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
Support organisational change initiatives, ensuring health, safety and wellbeing considerations are fully integrated.
Promote diversity, equality and inclusion within health, safety and wellbeing practices and across the wider team.We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate...

Extensive proven experience in a senior health and safety leadership role, ideally within the electrical, utilities or construction industry.
NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma in Health and Safety (or equivalent).
Strong management skills, with the ability to lead teams, coach and support others, and manage conflict positively.
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Proven ability in incident investigation and report writing, with a fair and just approach to root cause analysis.
Practical understanding of diversity, equality and inclusion.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to varied audiences.
Analytical mindset with experience in using data to solve problems and inform strategic decisions.
High levels of empathy and professional integrity.
A full and valid UK driving license is essentialAs the role covers the South East and South, your location can be relatively flexible, as long as you're happy to be travelling for much of your week. To give you a good idea of where you will be spending your time, our clients include but are not limited to Scottish & Southern Energy Networks, Southern Gas Networks and UK Power Networks
