Patient Administrator – Cardiac Unit
St Peter's Hospital – Chertsey, Surrey, United Kingdom. Join our busy Cardiac Unit as a Patient Administrator.
Responsibilities:
* Providing a welcoming and professional first point of contact for all patients and visitors.
* Co‑ordinating patient arrival through to departure.
* Handling telephone enquiries promptly, offering information and prioritising queries.
* Demonstrating a reassuring manner when dealing with patients and relatives.
* Booking clinically validated referrals appropriately in accordance with clinical priority.
* Delivering efficient patient scheduling, optimising laboratory capacity including short‑notice allocation.
* Safely storing, collating, tracking and organising medical notes.
* Managing patient waiting lists against national waiting times and local KPIs using LUNA, liaising with the Patient Pathway Team and escalating as required.
* Processing all Cardiac Unit letters and ensuring activity is recorded (e.g., Pre‑Assessment and procedures).
* Contributing to the development of action plans where performance improvement is identified.
* Complying with mandatory training and maintaining professional learning and development.
* Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
* Reporting incidents and complaints in line with Trust policy.
* Participating in governance activities, audits and team meetings.
* Complying with ISO standard / GDPR for information and security management.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience with Surrey Safe Care (Cerner) and Evolve electronic medical records systems.
* Working knowledge of ISO standards and GDPR.
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Knowledge of LUNA and patient pathway management.
