What the day will look like
As a Personal Accident & Travel Assistant Underwriter, some of your key responsibilities will involve:
1. Underwriting business in accordance with delegated underwriting authority,
2. Promoting AonProtect products and services,
3. Supporting the Underwriting Manager in achieving the business plan/budget,
4. Providing quotations for renewals, new business, and alterations within delegated underwriting authority and with referral internally and to carriers as required,
5. Developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and carriers,
6. Collaborating with internal and external parties in developing the company’s business as directed,
7. Working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework and complying with company policies, including participation in risk management and mandatory training.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
As an Assistant Personal Accident & Travel Underwriter, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
1. Level of education – ideally ‘A’ Level or above.
2. Experience in underwriting risks within an insurance company or MGA is desired.
3. Good technical knowledge of Accident and Health Markets is preferred.
4. Strong organizational skills,
5. Ability to work proactively without direct supervision, as well as part of a team,
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills,
7. Literate and numerate,
8. Ability to meet enquiry targets,
9. Enthusiasm for learning and development,
10. Accurate and timely work throughput,
11. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with brokers and carriers.
