BAM FM is recruiting a Mobile Gas Engineer to join our team based in Stepps, covering the central belt of Scotland. The role reports to the Contract Manager and involves building maintenance across multiple sites. Working hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Your mission
The engineer will collaborate with operatives, clients, subcontractors, and colleagues, demonstrating excellent teamwork and relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities include:
1. Undertaking Planned Preventative Maintenance, completing reports.
2. Handling reactive/emergency breakdowns, ensuring proper documentation.
3. Coordinating with the Helpdesk for resource allocation.
4. Participating in a call-out rota for out-of-hours client support.
5. Assisting the team as directed by the Contract Manager.
6. Ensuring tasks meet contractual deadlines and are properly audited.
7. Reducing energy consumption proactively.
8. Supervising visiting subcontractors regarding work standards and safety.
9. Adapting flexibly to assist across properties within the BAM FM portfolio.
10. Completing all duties per company policies and procedures.
11. Accurately maintaining all work-related documentation.
12. Undertaking additional duties as capabilities permit.
Compliance
Adhere to all Health and Safety policies, carry out work safely, and maintain detailed records for statutory testing and inspections. Ensure compliance with legislation, quality, and environmental standards.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate is a committed, proven multi-skilled engineer with gas qualifications and experience in air conditioning, or solely gas qualifications. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Essential skills and experience:
* Electrical/mechanical maintenance, testing, fault finding on equipment such as air conditioning, plumbing, boilers, ventilation, pumps.
* Experience in mobile service delivery contracts.
* Understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and management information interpretation.
* Knowledge of health & safety practices.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Supervisory experience (desirable).
* Proactive problem-solving skills.
* Ability to complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
* Computer literacy, electronic device competence (Concept knowledge is a plus).
* Full UK driving license.
* Customer service skills.
* Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (PVG) clearance; CRB check may be required.
