Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Castleford – WF10.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
At our service we support 15 adults with learning disabilities aged 18 to 65. Each individual has different support needs and interests. All the people we support live in individual flats and will need support around finances, meals, tenancy-related tasks and support for activities of their choice. As we are located in Castleford we have many Castleford Tigers fans, so supporting home and away games is also part of the role.
Responsibilities
* Provide practical and emotional support to adults with learning disabilities in their daily lives.
* Assist with daily activities, meals, finances, tenancy-related tasks, and engagement in activities of the individual’s choice.
* Support individuals in attending home and away games and community activities.
What we’re looking for
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options
* Full-time: 37.5 hrs
* Part-time: flexible hours based on availability
Shift times
* Days: Between 0900-2200
* Sleep-ins: 1600-1100
There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20.
