About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents love. You’ll maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, showing new starters how to use equipment, or cleaning spills, Resident wellbeing will always be your priority.
We look for candidates with some kitchen experience and either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to study for one. Strong record-keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are key.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know what actions to take. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and to seek advice or escalate concerns when necessary.
