Proposed salary range: £27,600 – £28,600 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. Additional annual Channel Islands Weighting of £5,441 for full‑time employees or pro‑rata for part‑time.

Purpose of the role
BBC Jersey is looking for a multi‑media journalist to join our creative team producing great radio programmes. On some occasions you’ll also be reporting across different platforms including online and TV.
Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* You’ll deliver programme production duties, update BBC Sounds programme information, record and edit multi‑track audio, and develop stories to be used across all platforms (audio, online and TV).
* You’ll operate a variety of broadcast equipment including the on‑air studios, our production desk, and our broadcast vehicles. You may work on weekdays and at weekends, including early mornings.
* You will work across a range of news‑reading, radio production shifts and reporting, including early mornings and weekends, as part of a small, multi‑skilled team creating great audio, digital and TV output.
Your Skills And Experience
* A passion for making great radio – that’s at the heart of our community.
* An understanding of our radio programmes, TV output and online presence – and an ability to read radio news bulletins.
* A technical understanding of broadcast output and a willingness to learn to operate technical equipment.
* A willingness to work as an active member of a small team across all platforms – keen to meet people.
* An appreciation of the audience we aim to serve.
Essential Criteria
* News bulletin production and reading.
* Radio production skills (e.g. using systems such as DIRA and Highlander; specific training can be given).
* Editorial experience (producing content and working on finding stories and guests).
* Experience speaking and interviewing people from all walks of life.
* Curiosity and knowledge of the Channel Islands, and what goes on here.
Desired But Not Required
* Writing stories for audio, online and TV.
* Gathering audio interviews for radio.
