The role of a Principal Piping Engineer:
1. Overall responsibility for the layout of plant and equipment, and for the design of the pipework systems, including the supervision of Engineers and Designers.
2. Responsible for the design, production, and checking of all design documentation.
3. Material selection, specification, and technical bid evaluation.
4. Attendance at technical studies.
5. Coordination of specialist testing and inspection at sub-contractors and vendors.
6. To provide technical support to ongoing projects within the oil, gas, LNG fields.
Required experience and qualifications of a Principal Piping Engineer:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience.
* Chartered Status.
* A working knowledge based on previous experience, of codes, standards, and accepted working practices with respect to Engineering in the international Oil Gas and Petrochemical industries.
* Knowledge of Pipe Stress Analysis.
