B6 to B7 Progression Rotational Pharmacist or B7 Rotational Pharmacist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our expanding pharmacy team, which includes innovative roles such as Independent Prescribers and Consultant Pharmacists, to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across community health and mental health specialities.
Responsibilities
* The role is largely patient-facing and focused on developing robust clinical skills to manage co-morbid presentations via our rotational programme.
* Rotational placement with the base at Goodmayes Hospital, Barley Lane, Ilford, with possible travel to other sites around NELFT.
* Provide clinical pharmacy services including attending wards rounds, patient counselling, and responding to clinical queries across the following service areas:
o Community Health Services including inpatient frailty wards, hospital discharge services and supporting specialist community services such as stroke rehabilitation, diabetes, respiratory and palliative care
o Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Services including inpatient wards, Psychiatric Liaison Services, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, Forensic Services, Learning Disabilities, Perinatal Mental Health, Home Treatment Teams and Community Mental Health Teams
o Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in both inpatient and community settings
* Proactive development and use of clinical skills to improve care through medicines optimisation. Opportunities for teaching, quality improvement and postgraduate study.
Training and Support
You will be supported by a clinical supervisor during the provision of a clinical pharmacy service, including bespoke training as part of the Band 6 to 7 Progression Pathway. A bespoke training package has been developed to aid development.
Eligibility and Progression
* We welcome applications from newly qualified, band 6 or equivalent pharmacists. Hospital and/or mental health experience is desirable but not essential, as in-house upskilling is provided.
* Applicants may be employed directly at a Band 7 level if they demonstrate the necessary skills and experience.
* Starting base for this role is Goodmayes Hospital, Ilford; as a rotational post there may be periodic travel to other sites around NELFT.
* This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period unless currently mid-probation or a bank staff member.
Remuneration and Benefits
* High Cost Area Supplement: 15% of basic salary (minimum £4,714 to maximum £5,941 per annum, pro rata for part-time).
* Induction and onboarding of new starters. Induction held at the Trust head office in Rainham, Essex, with comprehensive training and engagement sessions.
