PARALEGAL
UPTO £30,000 DOE
Lookers is recruiting for a paralegal to join our expanding and high performing team. You will support our operational colleagues across all business areas and get involved in a diverse range of legal work primarily focusing on consumer related litigation and pre-action complaints. You will work with other members of the Legal team to build positive relationships, find practical solutions, and deliver an excellent service to Lookers.
Responsibilities
1. You will get involved in a wide variety of legal work and support other more experienced team members on corporate, commercial, property and employment matters.
2. You will manage our outsourced portfolio of consumer court claims, working with our panel of third-party law firms to achieve successful resolutions in all jurisdictions.
3. You will support with important legal administrative tasks such as: taking minutes of committee meetings; the execution, indexing and storage of contractual documents; updating of trackers; the management of the team sharepoint sites; and the prompt and timely processing of third party law firm invoices.
4. You will become a trusted business partner by building strong relationships with colleagues across different business areas. In particular, you will work with our Customer Service & Resolution team to support with the early resolution of complex complaints to reduce litigation risk.
5. You will collaborate to understand current and future workload requirements to agree the most appropriate way for work to be delivered.
6. Undertake legal research, stay up-to-date with key legal developments and share any learnings with the Legal team and other operational colleagues.
7. Assist other members of the Legal team to implement and continuously improve ways of working, legal templates, processes, workflows, best practices and know-how.
8. Promote Lookers’ strategy, values and behaviours as well as comply with internal policy and procedure.
Qualifications
9. A law degree or GDL and LPC or working towards the CILEX qualification.
10. Experience of litigation or relevant legal casework would be beneficial.
11. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships quickly with colleagues and external partners.
