Role – Civil Site Manager Location – Manchester Mint Selection are working with a leading IPP who are seeking an experienced Civil Site Manager to join them on a 12 month contract immediately. Scope of Work * Manage daily site operations for civil and structural works associated with BESS projects, including earthworks, foundations, drainage, access roads, ducting, fencing, and compound construction. * Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver works safely, on time, and within budget. * Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, including CDM Regulations. * Act as the on-site representative for the project, liaising with clients, principal contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders. * Oversee site documentation, including RAMS, permits, inspections, daily site reports, and progress updates. * Monitor and report on site progress, identifying and escalating risks, delays, or technical issues to the Project Manager. * Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular HSEQ audits to ensure safety compliance and workforce engagement. * Coordinate interfaces between civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplines, supporting installation and commissioning phases. * Assist in project handover, ensuring completion of as-built documentation and quality assurance records. Experience to be Considered * Previous experience as a Site Manager (Civils) delivering infrastructure or renewable energy projects — ideally Battery Energy Storage Systems, Solar PV, or Substations. * Strong understanding of civil construction practices, including foundations, drainage, concrete works, and cable route preparation. * Familiarity with BESS design principles, site layouts, and interface requirements with electrical and mechanical systems. * Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors on complex infrastructure projects. * Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and stakeholder management.
