Construction Solicitor

Location: Cardiff

Salary: Up to £60,000 (DOE)

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Construction Solicitor to join the Cardiff office of a highly regarded national law firm.

The firm acts for an impressive mix of private and public sector clients and offers junior solicitors access to high-quality national work while remaining part of a collaborative and supportive local team. The Cardiff office continues to grow, providing a strong platform for someone looking to develop their profile and build a long-term career in construction law.

The role can accommodate a junior solicitor or someone with up to four years’ PQE. Applications are particularly encouraged from candidates who have completed a construction, projects, commercial litigation or relevant real estate seat during their training contract.

The role will involve:

• Assisting with a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious construction matters.

• Drafting and negotiating construction contracts, appointments, warranties and related project documentation.

• Supporting clients with construction disputes, adjudications and other forms of dispute resolution.

• Advising developers, contractors, consultants, public sector bodies and other project stakeholders.

• Working alongside experienced construction solicitors on complex regional and national matters.

• Developing strong relationships with clients and contributing to business development activity.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be a qualified solicitor at 2-4 years’ PQE.

• Have completed a seat or gained experience in construction, projects, commercial litigation, real estate or another closely related practice area.

• Demonstrate a genuine interest in developing a specialist career in construction law.

• Have strong drafting, analytical and communication skills.

• Be comfortable working collaboratively across different teams and offices.

• Take a proactive approach to professional development and client service.

What You’ll Get in Return

• Salary of up to £60,000, dependent on experience.

• A flexible hybrid working arrangement.

• Exposure to sophisticated construction and infrastructure matters.

• Support from experienced senior solicitors and recognised specialists.

• A clear development pathway within a growing national practice.

• A comprehensive benefits package and flexible benefits options.

The firm promotes flexibility over where and when its people work and provides access to a broad range of national private and public sector matters.
