A well-established regional construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of projects across the South Coast, operating from a Portsmouth base.
The role will involve working on 2–3 live projects at a time, with individual values up to £7m, across commercial, industrial, education, and retirement living sectors.
The Role
You will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the Contract Manager and site teams.
Key responsibilities include:

Cost planning, budgeting, and commercial reporting
*
Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments
*
Pricing variations and managing change control
*
Preparing monthly cost value reconciliations and forecasts
*
Supporting contract administration and final account agreement
*
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
*
Assisting with tendering and pre-construction pricing where required
About You
Essential:
*
Qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
*
Experience within a main contractor environment
*
Knowledge of JCT contracts
*
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
*
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
*
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
*
Experience on commercial, education, industrial, or residential/retirement projects
*
Experience managing projects up to £7m
*
Good communication skills and a proactive approach
