Who are we?
RAFCTE is renowned for staging the world-famous Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire each year. In 2003, RIAT was recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest military air show globally. The event attracts heads of many of the world’s air forces, major industry suppliers, thousands of aviation enthusiasts, and members of the public over three days. It is also a family-friendly event, featuring the Techno Zone with interactive STEM activities, aligned with RAFCTE's mission to inspire young people in air, space, and technology. Over 200,000 people attended RIAT in 2024.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Ground Operations Logistics Assistant to support the Ground Operations Manager in the daily tasks involved in the RIAT Showground Build, Load-in, Load-out, and Recovery phases.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
* Carrying out site-related tasks assigned from the Site Office
* Ensuring the safe construction of the RIAT Showground according to CAD plans
* Performing manual handling tasks
* Driving site vehicles and forklifts (if licensed)
* Ensuring the safe recovery of site infrastructure and the Showground
Type of Contract/Working Hours
Fixed Term Contract: 9th June 2025 - 8th August 2025
36.25 hours per week. The role involves shift work, including early, late, and weekend shifts once the Showground build begins. All staff are required to work the Saturday or Sunday before the event and the entire weekend of the event.
What We Will Offer
A salary of £25,000 per annum pro rata. You will also receive two complimentary tickets to RIAT and a 50% staff discount for an additional six tickets.
About You
Having a forklift license is advantageous, but experience as a laborer or in a similar construction role, along with a commitment to excellence and strong task prioritization skills, is encouraged. Candidates must be willing to undertake various physical tasks throughout all event phases.
