Overview

Posts available: 1. Contract: Permanent. Term: Part-Time. Salary: £24,300. Hours per week: 30 hours. Reporting to: Rev Lizzy Holland, Rector. Location: St Peter’s Church, Woolton, Liverpool.

Employer Bio

St Peter’s is a relatively large evangelical church in a suburb of south Liverpool that has, in part, retained its identity as a village. It is a welcoming church with a heart to serve Woolton and currently has around 300 members on its electoral roll. The church is, to many who are not part of their congregation, the Parish Church of Woolton and this is reflected in the relatively high number of baptisms, weddings and funerals that they are privileged to provide.

It is the combination of the church’s baptism ministry, their Minnows, Worship Through Play and other children’s groups and their strong relationship with Bishop Martin Church of England Primary School that has attracted so many young families.

However, St. Peter’s considers itself to be an intergenerational church and wants to be a church for all.

Job Summary

The focus of this role is to develop and implement engaging programs for youth within the church community, while providing an important link between the whole church ministry and children’s offer. The focus will be on spiritual growth, personal development, and fostering a sense of community among the young members of the congregation. The role involves working closely with families, volunteers, and church leadership to create a welcoming and supportive environment for young people.

You will inspire their already thriving volunteer community through training, empowerment and encouragement to minister, particularly to the youth congregation. You will also provide practical support to the day-to-day running and co-ordination of the children and youth groups. You will be well versed in safeguarding, ensuring the church delivers a safe space for young people to explore their faith.

The role will be focused on youth (12-18) whilst also providing assistance and guidance to children’s (3-11) groups leaders (approx. 20%).
