Offer description

My client, an established name in power and utilities in the UK’s energy infrastructure sector, is looking to appoint an experienced and tenacious Framework / Programme Director to take ownership of a landmark £150M+ high-voltage design and construction framework.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in Net Zero Teesside – one of Europe’s most ambitious energy and low-carbon infrastructure programmes. The project will deliver the largest private electricity network in Europe, supporting clean energy and low-carbon manufacturing on a national scale.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the end-to-end delivery of a high-value HV framework, managing engineering, construction, and design workstreams.
* Take full ownership of framework P&L, ensuring strong commercial performance and compliance with NEC4 Option C contracts.
* Act as the senior point of contact for the client, suppliers, internal teams, and subcontractors, ensuring collaborative and high-quality delivery.
* Manage a dedicated team of project professionals and coordinate supplier activities across multiple work packages.
* Ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed budgets, timeframes, and quality standards.
* Drive governance, reporting, and risk management activities across the programme.
* Support future commercial opportunities and work closely with pre-contract and estimating teams on pipeline activity.

About you:

* A tenacious, strong leader with demonstrable experience delivering large-scale engineering or construction programmes.
* Hands-on, confident, and able to manage suppliers and subcontractors within complex delivery environments.
* Deep working knowledge of NEC4 Option C contracts – including target cost control, early warnings, and scope management.
* Ideally from a utilities or HV background, although senior candidates from the wider construction sector will also be considered.
* Comfortable working in an office-based environment; permanent office facilities are currently being constructed at Teesworks.
* Degree or HNC in Engineering, Construction, Project or Commercial Management (or equivalent).
* Full UK driving licence.

Why Apply?

* Be at the heart of Net Zero Teesside, the UK’s most high-profile low-carbon and energy infrastructure project.
* Long-term career opportunity with a globally recognised energy organisation (Iberdrola).
* Clear succession route to senior leadership roles – this position is earmarked as a future step-up into programme leadership.
* Opportunity to shape delivery from an early stage and leave a legacy on one of the most transformative infrastructure projects in Europe.

If you’re looking for a high-impact role with genuine long-term progression, this is a rare opportunity to be part of something nationally significant — with the scale, backing, and ambition to match.
