Pay Range: Commensurate with experience
Occupational Therapist – Elgin County (Full-Time/Part-Time)
VHA\'s Occupational Therapist provides consultation, assessment and planned interventions for diverse client groups across Southern Ontario and the capital region, referred through VHA Rehab Solutions and Champlain Rehab Solutions. The Occupational Therapist works within a continuous quality improvement framework, which reflects VHA’s core beliefs and mission of services as well as promoting and maintaining good public relations with clients, customers and VHA staff, volunteers and associates.
Key Areas of Accountability
* Assesses and implements occupational therapy interventions in accordance with professional practice guidelines and standards established by VHA and the respective regulatory college.
* Implement client interventions based on assessment information, client input and in conjunction with the client’s integrated care plan.
* Ensure that services provided are best practice, evidence-based and evaluated through the routine use of valid and reliable outcome measures.
* Ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication with all members of the client’s team regarding plans and schedules for interventions.
* Document all assessment findings, treatment plans, progress and discharge summaries of interventions as required by the profession, referral source and the organization.
* Support safe client care through the development of knowledge and skills in accordance with our principles of continuous quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized school of Occupational Therapy.
* Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
* Valid Driver’s License with access to a vehicle
* Compassionate and empathetic
* Self-driven with ability to work independently
* Skilled in caseload management
* Skilled at electronic documentation
* Able to provide virtual care
* A registered ADP authorizer (asset)
