What You’ll Be Doing
* Assist the Cook with the preparation of varied, nutritious meals for residents.
* Help with the serving of meals for residents, understanding any specific food requirements, and ensure everyone is treated with respect, dignity, and given choice.
* Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health & Safety, COSHH, and Environmental Health to maintain a safe environment throughout the home.
* Clean and tidy all areas of the kitchen with appropriate products following the cleaning schedules to ensure the Care Home is always cleaned to high standards.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is in full, safe working order; immediately report faults to the Cook and the Caretaker.
* Receive and unload new stock, store appropriately, and rotate stock to maintain optimum freshness of all food.
* Work as an integral part of the team, contribute to meetings and training as required, ensuring the Care Home is a friendly and supportive working environment.
