About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Hounslow’s Adult Quality Assurance, Improvement & Specialist Services.

Your primary role will be to promote a clear understanding of safeguarding across the different communities, local businesses and voluntary sector organisations in a thoughtful and engaging way. This is a new role that was created to work with existing safeguarding structures but will need an innovative approach to build new opportunities for collaboration.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

The role reports to the Hounslow Safeguarding Adults Board Business Manager and sits within the children and adult services directorate.

This is an exciting, new role within a diverse and transformative team. The team cover a range of specialist services, but your focus will be on the safeguarding of vulnerable adults in our communities.

* You will develop a safeguarding participation approach & action plan.
* You will support the development with communities and local businesses for person-centred approaches to working with risk.
* You will develop and report good practice evidence of positive engagement with people who have been subjected to the safeguarding process including evidence of the person’s views and outcomes being sought.
* You will contribute to the development of the Directorate service plan, owning responsibilities and targets.
* You will be a key point of contact between the council and local residents and other stakeholders.
* You will be required to meet with residents, including home and site visits.

About You

Key for this role is that you have a professional background in safeguarding and in-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and best practices and significant experience in developing and implementing effective safeguarding policies and procedures.

* You will have risk assessment and management principles and be proficient in conducting risk assessments and developing safeguarding procedures.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You will also have experience in delivering training and mentoring others on safeguarding issues.
* Proactive and resourceful. You will demonstrate you have empathy, resilience and compassion in handling sensitive and challenging issues, with a commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of all individuals.
* Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and confident in addressing difficult issues and making tough decisions.
* You will be detail-oriented and methodical in approach and have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* High level of organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and Customer Relationship Management systems.
* High level of integrity and ethical standards and a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.

Essential For This Role:

* This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
* Are you passionate about keeping vulnerable adults safe?
* Do you have experience of safeguarding adults in a professional capacity?
* Are you an organised person who is adept at working to different priorities well and managing changing demands at short notice, as required by the service needs?
* You will be required to meet with residents, including home and site visits.
