About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced podiatrist to join our Health in Justice (HiJ) Musculoskeletal (MSK) team, on a part‑time basis, at HMP Fosse Way, Leicester. Provide outstanding evidence‑based care, advanced assessment and treatment of patients who may have complex and/or chronic presentation. You will need to determine clinical diagnosis and clinical treatment, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. Assess and treat a range of conditions including diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery. Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries. Playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients’ care, following our policies and procedures. Inspire excellence in your colleagues by being pro‑active in the management of foot, ankle and lower extremity conditions and motivate the wider team to identify patients at high risk. Forge strong working relationships with the Practice Plus Group healthcare team and the wider Health in Justice Service. Be responsible for your own caseload and waiting list and be able to work as an autonomous practitioner. We are looking for a caring, compassionate, innovative podiatrist to help us deliver our vision of high‑level MSK care in a secure setting. You will be supported by a Regional Team Lead and Clinical Lead, so if the prison environment is new to you, support will be available. We also believe in a good work‑life balance, so the hours can be worked flexibly around your other commitments.
Key responsibilities

Qualifications
* HCPC registration, with proven post‑registration experience of assessing and treating a range of conditions.
* Experience in assessing and treating diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery.
* Self‑motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Evidence of CPD and work within the MSK speciality.
* Non‑judgemental and compassionate approach.
* Excellent IT skills in MS Word and Outlook, and ideally experience of electronic notes systems.
Hours and remuneration
This role is 6 sessions per month, total number of hours are 24 hours a month. There is no on‑call or weekend work to allow for a strong work‑life balance. Salary is between £40,000 and £49,000 pro rata depending on experience.
