Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking qualified and experienced SEND Class Teachers to work in specialist and mainstream schools across Northamptonshire. We are proud to partner with a number of highly regarded provisions that cater for a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and complex needs.
About the Role:
As a SEND Class Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing a tailored curriculum that meets the diverse needs of your students. Classes are typically small, well-supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, and provide a unique opportunity to work holistically with pupils who require specialist teaching approaches and strong emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in line with individual EHCP targets
2. Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
3. Foster a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
4. Monitor and assess progress, adapting strategies as needed
5. Contribute to team meetings, reviews, and family liaison
6. Uphold high standards of safeguarding, welfare, and professional practice
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
8. Experience teaching pupils with SEND (mainstream or specialist settings)
9. Strong understanding of strategies for ASD, SEMH, MLD or complex needs
10. Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
11. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
