Care Assistant (Days) – Contract details: Permanent (17.5 hours per week) and Fixed Term Maternity Cover (28 hours per week). Location: New Bradley Hall, Compton Drive, Kingswinford, DY6 9NS. Salary: £13.12 per hour.
New Bradley Hall is a purpose-built, dementia-friendly home offering residential care in a stylish and homely environment. The home provides 66 en-suite rooms across three floors, with lounges, quiet rooms, a cinema room, on-site hairdressing facilities and a café area. The aim is to provide care tailored to residents’ individual needs and preferences and to support residents to maximise their independence.
We are looking for 2 Care Assistants to join our dedicated team and make a real difference in the lives of our residents.
Shift patterns
28 Hours (Fixed Term Maternity Cover)
Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday all 7.30am – 2.30pm shifts (Week 1); Monday, Tuesday both 2pm – 9pm shifts, and Thursday and Friday both 7.30am – 2:30pm shifts (Week 2).
17.5 Hours (Permanent)
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday all 2pm – 9pm shifts (Week 1); Saturday and Sunday 2pm – 9pm shifts (Week 2).

Responsibilities
* Provide the highest level of personal care (toileting, bathing, etc.) following individual care plans with polite, friendly, warm and supportive contact.
* Act as a key worker for residents, ensuring responsibilities are carried out in full as defined in the training manual and care plan.
* Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements relevant to health and safety and the Health and Social Care Act to maintain a safe environment.
* Monitor residents’ safety, physical and mental well-being; report changes to a senior on duty and maintain/update residents’ records as required.
* Respect and maintain confidentiality of residents’ personal information, including behaviour and incidents during day-to-day care.
* Be patient and supportive, encourage and assist residents to participate in appropriate leisure activities to meet social and emotional needs.
* Make and change beds, tidy rooms (with resident’s permission), undertake light cleaning and laundry duties to keep the home clean and welcoming.
* Help serve meals and drinks, present meals attractively, and provide appropriate support to residents who need assistance with eating and drinking.
Person Specification
* Essential: Experience in a care environment or similar; NVQ Level 2 in Adult Health and Social Care or equivalent (or willingness to work towards); basic understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards and compliance; understanding of individual rights of older people; understanding of care plans, risk assessment and medications.
* Desirable: Knowledge of supporting people with dementia and age-related illnesses.
