Whipps Cross University Hospital is recruiting a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 to work in Birch Ward.
This post is open to both experienced Healthcare Support Workers and individuals new to care. Those new to care will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within six months upon successful completion of all required competencies. Until then, the role will be paid at Band 2 salary.
Responsibilities
* Monitoring patient observations such as vital signs.
* Assisting with personal care and mobility.
* Supporting patients’ nutritional and hydration needs.
* Performing limited delegated duties, e.g., taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening.
* Applying simple wound dressings.
* Working as part of a nursing team under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
* Participating in meeting patient and service standards.
* Developing essential competencies through training and practice to ensure safety and quality.

* Ability to work flexible hours in a challenging clinical environment, including nights and weekends.

* Willingness to follow delegated clinical duties and protocols.
The role requires working within Birch Ward, under the direction of a registered nurse, and may involve shift work including nights and weekends.
