A well-established regional law firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Litigation Solicitor to lead its Litigation Department in Hertfordshire. This senior-level role offers the opportunity to manage a broad, high-value caseload, take a strategic lead in departmental growth, and progress toward Partnership. You will handle a range of complex disputes-including property, landlord and tenant, commercial (including partnership and shareholder disputes), boundary issues, professional negligence, and insolvency matters. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded litigator who enjoys working autonomously and leading a team, with a strong emphasis on client care and business development. Key Responsibilities: Leading and managing a diverse caseload of complex civil, commercial and property litigation matters. Supervising, supporting, and developing junior fee earners, creating a collaborative and high-performing team. Contributing to the strategic direction of the litigation department, with clear progression to Partnership. Driving business development initiatives, and actively network to enhance the firm's presence and attract new clients. Working closely with colleagues across departments to deliver a full-service client offering. Maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction, service delivery, and financial performance (including meeting billing targets). About You: Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 7 years' PQE in litigation. Demonstrable experience in managing high-value disputes across property, commercial, and professional negligence. Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with a passion for mentoring and developing others. Commercially astute, with strong business development and networking skills. Excellent communicator, with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. Self-motivated, highly organised, and able to manage competing priorities under pressure. Strong billing record, and confident in managing financial targets.
