Murphy is recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work with Natural Resources, based out of Kentish Town, Cannock, Wigan or St Fergus. The role involves working on multiple projects within the Gas Industry, including Terminals and Compressor Stations.
We maintain, operate, modify, design, construct, and commission new energy networks and facilities across four countries. Our goal is to guide our customers through the energy transition and support their commitments to achieve net zero emissions. We provide safe and reliable specialist services as a trusted Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Maintenance, and Decommissioning (EPFCM&D) partner, working with onshore and offshore oil, gas pipelines, gas diversions, and renewable energies.
A day in the life of a Murphy Mechanical Project Engineer
* Provide expertise in Mechanical and Piping systems within Gas industry projects
* Lead Mechanical and Piping aspects of multi-discipline projects from concept through to completion
* Develop Mechanical and Piping work scope, delivery strategy, and programme
* Review Mechanical and Piping designs
* Manage installation and pre-commissioning activities
* Coordinate with key stakeholders for successful project delivery
* Input and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) aligned with standards
* Challenge technical specifications as needed
* Develop and manage pre-commissioning documentation
* Work with planning teams to develop project programmes
* Monitor and report on project progress, produce look-ahead programmes, and review others
* Collaborate with supply chain partners to incorporate their requirements into the project plan

* Solid understanding of design, process safety, and procurement
* Ability to manage and coordinate Mechanical and Piping aspects of large EPC projects
* Engineering degree qualification preferred, minimum HNC
