Our client is an Operator and this requirement is for a staff Project Lead (Decommissioning) based in Aberdeen.
About the Role
The Project Lead will manage the execution phase of a platform or subsea decommissioning project, working closely with the decommissioning team, contractors, verifiers, and all company functions to ensure safe, on‑budget, and on‑schedule delivery. The role involves line‑management of identified decommissioning personnel and collaboration with the Decommissioning Manager and Superintendent to develop a high‑performing team.
Responsibilities
* Lead delivery of assigned decommissioning projects and contribute to the overall success of all decommissioning activities.
* Work with contractors, verifiers, and company functions to promote a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
* Line‑manage decommissioning resources within the project team.
* Ensure compliance with the Decommissioning Programme and regulatory interfaces.
* Develop a positive company culture, promoting the mission statement, core values, and continuous improvement.
* Demonstrate exemplary safety leadership and communicate HSE expectations clearly.
* Support communication of lessons learned and audit findings.
* Assist the Decommissioning Manager with the annual department budget and internal line responsibility.
* Promote cost efficiency and be open to new techniques, commercial models, and technologies.
* Maintain effective external interfaces with regulators, industry bodies, supply chain members, and other operators.
* Create an environment where everyone can perform to their best and enhance project delivery.
Qualifications
* Experience of leading large‑scale projects or scopes.
* Experience managing budgets, teams, and collaborating with external parties.
* Technical/Engineering degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
* Knowledge of the offshore working environment and/or site‑based working.
* Demonstrated leadership and people‑management skills, including performance management, resource planning, and recruitment.
* Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams toward key goals.
* Proven safety leadership at all times.
* Understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion principles.
Education / Certifications
* Project Management Qualification or working towards accreditation (e.g., APM or PMI) – preferred.
