As a Business Development Manager you’ll be the face of the business with clients – managing key relationships, driving new business and managing tenders from enquiry through to submission and closure. Key responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:
* Focus on winning new business and maximising opportunities within existing accounts
* Handle incoming enquiries, qualify opportunities, and convert them into orders
* Manage the tender process from logging and tracking through to submission and closure
* Prepare and deliver tender documentation that meets client requirements
* Build strong client relationships through regular communication, meetings, and site visits
* Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded at every stage of the process
* Represent the business at industry events, networking opportunities, and client functions
* Share insights, report on wins and challenges, and contribute ideas for improvement
1. Skills and Experience required for the Business Development Manager:
* Experience of winning and growing accounts in a sales-driven environment (essential)
* Background in utilities infrastructure, housing, or construction sectors (essential)
* Strong ability to negotiate contracts and close deals
* Experience of managing tenders and preparing proposals
* Effective networking and relationship-building abilities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Confident in contributing to and leading meetings
* Full UK Driving License (essential)
