Location: Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA Hours: 35 hours per week Work Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8.45am – 4.45pm and Friday 8.45am – 4.15pm Salary: £32,337 - £33,231 Community and Enterprise Resources are seeking to appoint a Building Standards Assistant within our Planning and Regulatory Service Team. The successful applicant will be responsible for: Assisting in the processing of Building Warrant applications, including assessment of plans, specifications and calculations, and the issue of warrants and completion certificates. Assisting in the assessment and monitoring of developments on site to ensure compliance with the Technical Standards including testing of drainage systems. Responding to routine, standard and more complex general enquiries and Freedom of Information enquiries from the general public, agents and other organisations. Inspecting buildings and taking action in terms of Section 27 of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 with respect to unauthorised work. Inspecting buildings and taking action in terms of Section 29/30 of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 with respect to dangerous buildings. Assisting in carrying out inspections and providing comments/reports in relation to the Council’s Licensing function with respect to Safety at Sports Grounds, Houses in Multiple Occupancy etc. View the Building Standards Assistant job profile Please Apply online - All correspondence will be via your email address Preferred candidates identified after the selection event process will be required to assist the recruitment team, if need be, to ensure timely completion of recruitment checks.
